The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted its House of Representatives primary election to May 16, 2026.

The party announced the postponement in a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, noting that all other previously scheduled primary election dates remain unchanged.

Under the revised timetable, the House of Representatives primary will now take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The APC also confirmed that the Senate primary election will hold on May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary is scheduled for May 20.

According to the party, the governorship primary election will take place on May 21, while the presidential primary is slated for May 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the consensus option ahead of the party’s primaries.

In a statement released on Thursday, Tinubu described consensus as a laudable approach that could help minimise rancour and promote unity among party members during the primary election process
