The Civil Society Organization on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative CSCHEI, has been accredited by the United Nations, NewsSpecng learnt.

CSCHEI has also signed a partnership Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR.

The DG of CSCHEI, Kunle Yusuf made the disclosure at a Press meeting in Abuja.

Yusuf said the partnership will build up access to UN funding by Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria that are engaged in encouraging the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, and climate change-related issues.

He said this Partnership between UNITAR and CSCHEI has granted the organization access to Global Humanitarian and Development Networks with half United Nations Agencies globally.

He emphasized that Out of 38 various United Nations establishment systems, Nigeria is home to 24 United Nations Agencies.

He said, “It is worthwhile to mention that there are more than 45,000 various registered NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs in Nigeria, out of which 25,000 are working within the scope of social, community, and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiatives. Out of this 25,000, CSCHEI has access to 17,000 who are working presently on the social, community, and humanitarian sectors. Currently, CSCHEI is coordinating almost 3,400 NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs. It is also important to mention that the partnership between the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, a well-known and leading Tink- Thank in Nigeria has further reinforced our administrative credibility. The relationship we have established with Donour Agencies, Development Partners, Federal Government Agencies, some State Governments, and ALGON is an indicator that Nigeria is on the right path to achieve SDGs Global Agenda 2030 Goals

“My fellow Agents of Development, it gladens my heart to share with you this afternoon that CSCHEI has been accredited by United Nations through a partnership MoU signed with UNITED NATIONS INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING AND RESEARCH (UNITAR) .

” The MoU and mandate also cover UNOSAT, United Nations Satellite Centre. Out of 38 various United Nations establishment systems, Nigeria is home to 24 United Nations Agencies.

“The Partnership between UNITAR and CSCHEI has granted us access to Global Humanitarian and Development Networks with almost all United Nations Agencies globally.

“In a Development Space, we see this as a big deal majorly because this the first time a coordinating platform for NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs within the scope of Social Development, Community Enhancement, and Humanitarian interventions in Nigeria is given an international recognition officially. At CSCHEI, we know that proper coordination, funding, integration, administrative synergy, access to information and collaboration between government and NGos, CBOs, and FBOs are major challenges. (The good news is that with the existence of CSCHEI now, most of the problems will be addressed professionally)”

Yusuf further pointed out that Project 774 LGs, SDGs Programs will soon be launched.

He also added that CSCHEI Advisory Council will soon be inaugurated, and 2024 projects and programs will be launched for action.

Yusuf also urged the government to address the suffering of the people

“We also want to use this opportunity to further inform the federal government that Nigerians are facing a serious challenge of livelihood occasioned by hard but necessary economic policies of government. As a bridge between the government and the masses, it has become a compelling imperative for us to, at this juncture, call upon Mr. President, as a matter of urgency to review the Presidential Food Security Committee. ”

He went on, “The government should also consider a more people’s friendly tariff on electricity. The persistence of insecurity in the country demands a holistic re- engineering approach.

“The cost of public higher education is becoming relatively too high for average Nigerians.

“To this end, we strongly identify with the education support intervention of students’ loan schemes. We are calling on the Government to make the scheme, robust, transparent and accessible to needy Nigerians to enable us generate the pool of educated young people with the necessary technical and managerial skills needed to galvanize the next generation and sustain the present momentum on the path of Sustainable Development Goals. We also appreciate Mr. President for his tenacity in projecting the image of Nigeria to the global community, we want him to put more effort into diplomatic engagements.

“We will also conduct our own parallel research, monitor, evaluate, rate, and report most of the appointees of Mr. President.”
