The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has intensified its strategic engagement with key telecommunications stakeholders following high-level visits to Airtel Nigeria and IHS Towers in Lagos State.
The familiarization visits, conducted on October 21, 2026, were led by the NCC’s Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Ms. Rimini Makama, alongside representatives of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), led by its President, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo.
At Airtel Nigeria’s headquarters, the delegation was received by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dinesh Balsingh. Discussions focused on fostering stronger regulatory-operator relations and addressing sector-wide developments.
The delegation subsequently visited the corporate headquarters of IHS Towers, meeting with Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kazeem Oladepo to discuss digital infrastructure and passive network operations.
The joint engagements brought the regulatory authority together with two critical pillars of Nigeria’s communications ecosystem—Airtel, a leading mobile network operator, and IHS Towers, a major telecommunications infrastructure provider.
While specific policy commitments or official agreements from the meetings were not publicly detailed, the visits highlight the regulator’s ongoing commitment to open dialogue, operational collaboration, and industry stability across Nigeria’s telecom sector.
