Ikeja Electric Apologizes to Band A Customers Over Power Supply Shortfall

Releated Post

Ikeja Electric has issued a formal apology to customers on select Band A feeders across its franchise area after failing to meet the mandatory minimum daily supply of 20 hours on November 3 and 4, 2026.

The power distribution company announced the service lapse in a notice shared via its official X account on Thursday, expressing regret over its inability to deliver the expected service level during the two-day period.
Under Nigeria’s service-based tariff structure, Band A electricity consumers are guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours of power supply daily. While the utility firm acknowledged the shortfalls, it did not specify the exact feeders impacted or the underlying technical reasons behind the power cuts.
Alongside the apology, Ikeja Electric issued a strict public safety advisory cautioning residents against engaging in commercial or construction activities near high-voltage electrical installations.
The company warned members of the public to avoid trading, building, or erecting structures beneath or close to power transmission lines, highlighting the severe safety hazards associated with power line corridors.
”Stay clear. Stay safe. Your life matters!” the company urged, advising residents to maintain proper clearance distances from all electrical infrastructure and utilize its customer channels for safety guidance and inquiries.
