Ex-Plateau Commissioner Rejects APC Campaign Council Role, Reaffirms PDP Loyalty

Releated Post

Former Plateau State Commissioner for Works and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Aminu Zang, has publicly rejected his appointment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council in Plateau State.

Zang, whose name appeared as number 254 on the published list of the APC Central Planning Committee, stated on Wednesday that he was neither consulted nor informed before the inclusion.
In an official statement titled “Clarification on My Inclusion in the 2027 Plateau State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council – Central Planning Committee,” Zang reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP.
“While I sincerely appreciate those who considered me worthy of inclusion… I wish to state, unequivocally and without any ambiguity, that I remain an unrepentant and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,” Zang said.
Speaking via a telephone interview, Zang noted he was not angry about the development but reiterated that he could not serve two political parties simultaneously.
Clarifying his stance ahead of the 2027 general elections, the former commissioner indicated a split endorsement: aligning with Nyesom Wike’s political stance regarding President Bola Tinubu at the federal level, while firmly backing PDP’s Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik for the Plateau governorship seat.
“I am supporting Wike’s position that Tinubu returns, but for the governor, no way. I’m in the PDP,” Zang explained, adding that the PDP in Plateau State is currently working on constituting its own campaign council.
Zang concluded his statement by calling on political stakeholders across all divides to maintain peace, decorum, and civility ahead of the 2027 polls.
