According to the police spokesperson, the first robbery occurred on October 30 in the Sabon Kaura area of Bauchi.
An 18-year-old suspect, identified as Mustapha Mohammed, allegedly broke into the bedroom of a 23-year-old woman around 3:10 a.m. Armed with a knife and a torchlight, the suspect attacked the victim, inflicting injuries on her left hand before stealing her Itel A80 mobile phone, valued at ₦120,000.
Following a prompt report, police operatives trailed and apprehended Mohammed.
”During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and claimed he handed the stolen phone over to an accomplice known only as ‘Dan-Oga,’ who is currently on the run. Active efforts are ongoing to track down the receiver and recover the device,” Habib stated.
Farm Attack in Gamawa LGA
In a separate incident on October 29, police in Gamawa Division arrested 20-year-old herder Jingi Buba over the alleged robbery of a 15-year-old girl in Kesa Village.
