OAU Announces Resumption Dates for 2026/2027 Academic Session

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, has announced the official schedule of activities for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
​In a statement issued on Monday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, management disclosed that newly admitted students are expected on campus on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with online registration starting on Monday, November 2.
​According to the resumption timetable: ​Sunday, Nov 1: Resumption of new students (Freshers)
​Monday, Nov 2 – Friday, Nov 6: Orientation programme for new students
​Monday, Nov 9 – Friday, Nov 13: Mandatory ICT training for new students
​Sunday, Nov 15: Resumption of returning undergraduate students
​Monday, Nov 16: Commencement of lectures for all students
​The management stated that the mandatory orientation week is designed to guide freshers through university regulations, traditions, and campus life. The subsequent ICT training will equip incoming students with digital skills required for their coursework and the university’s online learning platforms.
​Welcoming the students ahead of the new session, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Bamire, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering a safe, conducive environment for teaching, research, and character development.
​The university urged all students to strictly observe the calendar to ensure a seamless kickoff to the academic year.
