The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 2026, urging citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, unity, compassion, and shared responsibility as foundations for national development and economic prosperity.

In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Executive Council and members of the Chamber, Obegolu described Eid al-Adha as one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic faith, symbolizing obedience, selflessness, and commitment to the greater good.

According to him, the values embodied by the festival are not only relevant to religious observance but are equally critical to fostering sustainable economic growth, responsible leadership, and social cohesion in a rapidly changing world.

The ACCI President noted that the celebration comes at a time when Nigerians are being called upon to strengthen national unity, support vulnerable members of society, and collectively work toward building a more prosperous and inclusive economy.

He emphasized that the season offers an opportunity for reflection and renewed commitment to the ideals of peace, generosity, and community service, which are essential for national progress.

As the leader of the business community in the Federal Capital Territory and surrounding areas, Obegolu commended Nigerian entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners for their resilience amid prevailing economic challenges.

He particularly praised Muslim entrepreneurs and professionals for their contributions to national development, noting that their investments, innovation, and entrepreneurial activities continue to drive commerce, create employment opportunities, and enhance productivity across various sectors of the economy.

Despite economic pressures confronting businesses, he said the private sector has remained a critical pillar of stability and growth, demonstrating remarkable adaptability and determination in sustaining economic activities.

Obegolu stressed the need for businesses to uphold the principles of integrity, inclusion, accountability, and long-term value creation, especially during periods of economic uncertainty.

According to him, organizations that prioritize ethical leadership, community impact, and collaboration will be better positioned to contribute meaningfully to national development while maintaining sustainable growth.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry to advancing policies and initiatives that promote enterprise development, strengthen public-private sector collaboration, and improve Nigeria’s business environment.

The ACCI President said the Chamber would continue to advocate reforms aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises, attracting investment, enhancing competitiveness, and creating opportunities for economic expansion.

He also emphasized the importance of sustained engagement between government and the private sector to address business constraints and unlock the country’s vast economic potential.

Calling on Nigerians to use the Eid celebration as a platform for promoting peace, mutual respect, and generosity, Obegolu expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome its challenges through collective effort and shared commitment to progress.

He maintained that with unity, sacrifice, innovation, and productive enterprise, Nigeria can achieve greater economic prosperity, social advancement, and long-term stability.

The ACCI President concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually rewarding Eid al-Adha celebration, while expressing hope that the lessons of the season would inspire greater national cohesion and economic resilience.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful,” he said.
