The Peoples Democratic Party has set up a thirteen member governorship screening committee.
The committee which is chaired by a former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi, according to a statement by the party was set up by the National Working Committee (NWC).
The statement which was signed by Chinwe I. Nnorom, National Director of Publicity, also named Barr. George Ariolu as the Secretary of the screening committee.
Other Member of the committee includes, Dr. Ibrahim Umar, Professor Aisha Madawaki, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, Dr. Abdulganiyu Oloyin, Hon. Babangida Modibbo, Alhaji Buba Biri, Hon (CH) Olaniyi Ogungbuji, Hon. Mike Ahumibe, Barr. Gabriel Igboko, Pastor Tony Effiong and Mrs. Ojelabi Precious.
The statement reads:
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of our Great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the constitution of a screening committee that will screen all Gubernatorial Aspirants for the upcoming 2026 Primaries ahead of the 2027 Governorship General Elections.
