PDP sets up 13 member governorship screening committee

The Peoples Democratic Party has set up a thirteen member governorship screening committee.
The committee which is chaired by a former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi, according to a statement by the party was set up by the National Working Committee (NWC).
The statement which was signed by Chinwe I. Nnorom, National Director of Publicity, also named ⁠Barr. George Ariolu as the Secretary of the screening committee.

Other Member of the committee includes, ⁠Dr. Ibrahim Umar, ⁠Professor Aisha Madawaki, ⁠Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, ⁠Dr. Abdulganiyu Oloyin, Hon. Babangida Modibbo, Alhaji Buba Biri, ⁠Hon (CH) Olaniyi Ogungbuji, Hon. Mike Ahumibe, ⁠Barr. Gabriel Igboko, ⁠Pastor Tony Effiong and ⁠Mrs. Ojelabi Precious.

The statement reads:
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of our Great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the constitution of a screening committee that will screen all Gubernatorial Aspirants for the upcoming 2026 Primaries ahead of the 2027 Governorship General Elections.
