It was a bad day for the league defending champoin, Liverpool as they were masacared 7-2 by Aston Villa on Sunday.
It was a Sunday of goal rain as Manchester United had lost scandalouslely 6-1 at home to Totteham earlier in the day.

Liverpool haven't conceded seven goals in a game since 1963. The defending champions of England haven't conceded seven goals in a game Arsenal in 1953.

This is the first time Liverpool will be conceding seven goals in a game since 1963 when it lost to Arsenal.
Aston Villa new boy, Ollie Watkins struck a first-half hat-trick, while Jack Grealish added two more goals and one a piece from Ross Barkley and John McGinn.

The absence of Liverpool first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson Baker who had a shoulder injury was heavily felt as his replacement, Andrian did not cover himself in glory while the match lasted.

Liverpool defending can best be described as shambolic defending at Villa Park.

The defending champion let in the first goal within four minutes of play when Adrian's wayward pass to Joe Gomez was seized upon by Grealish, who squared for Watkins to slot home.

Watkins again latched onto another Grealish pass and fired into the top-right corner for the second goal of the match.

Salah halved the deficit, yet Villa's two-goal cushion was restored two minutes later when McGinn's wickedly deflected volley found the bottom-left corner.

Watkins completed his treble before the end of first half when he turned home Trezeguet's cross. The goal rain was further extended when a former Everton midfielder Barkley extended their lead 10 minutes after the restart.

In his address titled, ‘Building effective partnership for good governance and delivery of government’s priority agenda,' Gbajabiamila said that for the delivery of good governance, legislative oversight must not be seen as an attempt to usurp the authority of the Executive, instead, it should be seen as good efforts to ensure that the government lives up to its obligations under the law.

Gbajabiamila who spoke on Monday at a 2-day dialogue session for senior members of the Executive and Legislative branches of government noted that as long as the nation’s system of government rests upon a partnership between the Executive and the Legislature, the most important of their functions is the obligation to check and balance each other.

While emphasizing on the misconception of the legislative function in a democracy as one of the biggest threats to effective cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature, he said, “One of the greatest of such misconceptions is that the Legislature exists only to make laws.
