Just in Court declines exparte order by PDP Govs’ chair’s group to hold NEC

A Federal High Court sitting in Zamfara has declined request for an exparte order by a faction backed by the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Bala Mohammed to hold the party’s National Executive Council(NEC).

The group had approached the Court for an order to hold the NEC meeting as the party’s factional crisis deepened on crisis.

Ruling on the case, Justice Salim Ibrahim declined the request.

The Court also adjourned further hearing on the case to October 25.

The Tuesday suit was filed at the Zamfara High Court, according to The Nation Newspaper report.
The case is between one Imam Auwal vs PDP amd Independent National Electoral Commission.
Already, Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party had summoned the acting National Chairman of the party, Amb Umar Damagum, the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu and others to a crucial meeting today (Tuesday).
The meeting is coming ahead of the planned National Executive Committee session scheduled for Thursday.
At the meeting, the Olagunsoye Oyinlola-led reconciliation committee is expected to brief the party’s National Working Committee on its findings and potential recommendations.
