The crisis rocking Rivers State took a new twist with the reported election of Edison Ehie as the new Speaker.
Congratulating the new Speaker, Governor Simi Fubara said the government will support him to ensure the state enjoy the dividends of democracy. The elected speaker was the immediate leader of the House .
At the time of filing this report, NewsSpecng was unable to ascertain the number of members of the state Assembly that voted for the new Speaker.
24 of the 32 members of the State Assembly had earlier in the day signed the notice of impeachment against the governor.
