The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama has urged the country’s High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica to improve the image of Nigeria.
The Minister stated this during his working visit to Jamaica.
As part of his working visit to Jamaica, the Minister took a trip to Kingston from Montego Bay. The Minister paid an inspection visit to the High Commission where he held a meeting with both the Home Based officers and the Local staff.
He commended them on the impressive look of the Mission generally and urged them to keep on maintaining the Mission the way they’re doing and also to always put strive to improve the image of Nigeria in the discharge of their duties.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also took visited the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, the biggest heart disease hospital in the Caribbean owned and operated by a Nigerian, Prof. Ernest Chijioke Madu who also owns the Docs Heart Centre in Enugu.
The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs also paid a visit to the Bob Marley Memorial Centre and was led by one of Marley’s relatives and Tour Guide Mr. Stephan Lemair.
The visit to Kingston was rounded up by a visit to the Jamaica Emancipation Park. The Honourable Minister was conducted round the park by the Jamaican High Commissioner to Nigeria alongside other Tour Guards. He inspected statutes of the 7 Jamaican Heroes.
