The decision was confirmed in a letter signed by FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström and addressed to NFF official Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, MON.
Joint FIFA-CAF Task Force
According to the directive, FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will jointly select and appoint members to the Normalisation Committee as soon as possible.
Key details of the mandate include:
Timeline: The committee’s tenure will conclude once its primary objectives are met, with a firm deadline of May 31, 2027.
To guarantee neutrality, appointed committee members will be ineligible to run for any vacant positions in the upcoming NFF elections.
NFF Secretariat Retains Daily Control
Until the joint FIFA-CAF panel is formally inaugurated, the NFF Secretariat will retain management of the federation’s day-to-day operations to ensure domestic football administration remains uninterrupted.
