President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner whose loyalty, experience and commitment have contributed significantly to the administration’s efforts to deliver its Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a birthday message issued on Wednesday, September 2, President Tinubu congratulated Shettima and extended his goodwill to the Vice President’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates.
The President described Shettima not merely as a political ally and colleague but as a patriot whose career has been marked by public service, commitment and sacrifice.
Tinubu also highlighted Shettima’s professional background in banking and his record of service to Borno State and Nigeria, noting that his contributions had extended from the financial sector to the highest levels of political leadership.
The President commended the Vice President for his service as Governor of Borno State and his subsequent role as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to Tinubu, Shettima has demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion in both capacities, while maintaining a strong commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians.
“Today, I warmly congratulate Vice President Kashim Shettima, my brother and partner in steering the ship of our state, on his 60th birthday on September 2,” Tinubu said.
“I rejoice with his wife, Nana, children, family and political associates on this important milestone.”
The President particularly praised Shettima’s commitment to national unity and development, describing his dedication to Nigeria’s progress as worthy of recognition.
Tinubu also acknowledged the Vice President’s loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his support for the administration since its assumption of office.
He said Shettima had remained committed to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda and had played an important role in supporting the administration’s policies and programmes.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC), Tinubu said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.
The President noted that the NEC serves as an important platform for collaboration between the Federal Government and the sub-national governments, particularly on economic policy and development priorities.
Tinubu also praised Shettima’s approach to governance, particularly his respect for constitutional principles, democratic institutions, consultation and dialogue.
According to the President, these qualities have contributed to strengthening good governance and improving cooperation among different levels of government.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.
The President expressed appreciation to Shettima for his continued support and partnership, saying their collaboration remained important to the administration’s efforts to fulfil its commitments to Nigerians.
“I must thank Vice President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians,” he said.
Tinubu expressed confidence that continued collaboration between himself and the Vice President would enable the administration to make further progress towards achieving its development objectives.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said.
The President also offered prayers for the Vice President, asking Almighty Allah to guide, protect and strengthen him as he continues in public service.
He prayed for Shettima to be blessed with wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to the country.
The birthday message underscores the President’s appreciation of Shettima’s role within the administration, particularly his responsibilities in economic coordination, intergovernmental relations and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
