A Niger Delta youth group has asked the Federal Government to review with the aim of redistributing the recently approved road infrastructure projects worth N3.9 trillion.
The group, 21st Century Youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience [21st CYNDAC ) while fully aligning itself with the position of the Pan Niger Delta Elders Forum [PANDEF] said the exclusion of Niger Delta is not acceptable
The group in a statement by its coordinator, Enisuo oruomoni demands among others the immediate review and
redistribution of the projects to ensure equitable inclusion of all Niger Delta states in the first tranche of projects, not as an afterthought.
It also demanded for the “Fast-Track of the East-West Road.
It also urged the government to Publish a clear timeline for the rehabilitation, modernization, and expansion of Calabar, Onne, Port Harcourt, and Warri Ports to decongest Apapa and unlock South-South trade.
“But commitment must be reciprocal. Justice, fairness, and equity cannot be negotiable.
“We therefore call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act swiftly to correct this imbalance. The Niger Delta is not asking for a favor. We are demanding our rightful share to develop the land that sustains the nation,”the statement reads.
