The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has announced the rescheduling of the Agricultural Mechanisation for Export-Quality Products in Africa (AGROMEQA Expo 2026), shifting the event from its original June dates to November in a move aimed at strengthening stakeholder participation and enhancing the overall impact of the exhibition.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chamber disclosed that the Expo, initially slated for June 10–12, 2026, will now hold on November 15–16, 2026, at the Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN Trade and Convention Centre, ACCI, Abuja.

The event is being organised by ACCI in collaboration with the Agricultural Trade Group and JMT Plus Farms and Agro-Allied.

According to the organisers, the decision to postpone the Expo followed extensive consultations with critical stakeholders and strategic partners across the agricultural sector. The adjustment is intended to create room for wider participation and more meaningful engagement from local and international players within the agricultural and agribusiness ecosystem.

The organisers explained that the additional preparation period would enable government agencies, development partners, investors, agribusiness operators, agricultural equipment manufacturers, financial institutions, researchers, farmers’ associations and international participants to make adequate arrangements for active involvement in the event.

They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a world-class platform that promotes agricultural mechanisation, enhances export-quality production systems, facilitates technology transfer and attracts sustainable investments into Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Speaking on the development, the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Emeka Obegolu, said the Expo remains a key initiative designed to support Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda and strengthen the country’s competitiveness in international markets.

Obegolu noted that AGROMEQA Expo 2026 aligns with national priorities aimed at achieving food security, driving economic diversification, creating employment opportunities, increasing value addition and promoting export-led growth.

He stressed that the postponement would not diminish the significance of the event but would instead provide an opportunity to broaden participation and ensure a more successful outcome.

The Expo, themed “Technology and Investment for Agro-Export,” is expected to bring together stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain to explore innovations, discuss emerging trends and foster partnerships that can accelerate agricultural productivity and export development.

Organisers said the event will serve as a strategic platform for showcasing modern agricultural technologies, facilitating business-to-business engagements, promoting investment partnerships and strengthening linkages among stakeholders across the sector.

They further expressed appreciation to stakeholders, exhibitors, sponsors and prospective participants for their understanding and continued support, assuring them that preparations for the Expo are progressing steadily.

The organisers added that further details regarding exhibition opportunities, sponsorship packages, participation modalities and the programme schedule would be communicated in the coming months.
