As the controversy over the proposed delineation of wards, polling units, state constituencies and an additional federal constituency proposal in Warri Federal Constituency presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission.(INEC) Delta State rages on the President, Children of Drivers And Fishermen Association ,(CODAFA), World-wide has rejected it

CADFA a Non Governmental
in a Press Release signed by its Presiden Mr Romeo Diden and the Secretary, Mr Blessing Okotie, and made available to the media in Warri on Sunday 7June , described the exercise as fraudulent, mischievous and the misrepresentation of facts.

According to the release, the stakeholders’ meeting held at the INEC Secretariat in Asaba, Delta State, could not be sustained in any sane society governed by the rule of law justice, equity and therefore reject it in its entirety

Diden said, ” INEC carried out the delineation pursuant to the Supreme Court judgment in _Hon. George Timinimi & Ors v. INEC (SC. 413/2016) which the group is not against, however, the group argued that the new proposal perpetuates the same illegality and fraudulent practices the Itsekiri Nation has consistently opposed.

He said,”After careful review, we have decided to decline this proposal. Our due diligence identified material misrepresentations and inconsistencies in the proposal provided because the proposal relies on statements we have determined to be fraudulent, and therefore reject it because we take matters of integrity and legal compliance seriously.”

Diden states that, “though the Supreme Court ordered delineation, however, the Supreme Court did not order INEC to conduct a delineation tainted with fraud and corrupt practices, the delineation exercise was conducted without neutrality, fairness, or justice, and it is therefore unacceptable to the Itsekiri Nation,” the statement read. “

He said, the Itsekiri nation has been oppressed and taken for granted for too long for being civil and accommodating and therefore there has to be an end to such anomaly.
