Defence Minister Mohamed Badaru Abubakar says the establishment and Training of Maritime Security unit Forces of the Deep Blue Project is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to protect and safeguard the integrity of the Nation’s waterways
The Minister disclosed this on Thursday June 6 in his keynote address at the graduation ceremony of the Maritime Security Unit of the Deep Blue Project held in 5 Battalion Nigerian Army Elele, Rivers State.
Alhaji Badaru Abubakar urged the Maritime officers to fully prepare to be able to cope with the challenges of illegal bunkering, pipeline vandalisation ,piracy illegal fishing and water tress passing among others
The Minister said he was very optimistic that the graduands who have gone through the professional combat training will confidently deal with these challenges to bring peace and economic prosperity of our great Nation.
While congratulating the graduated Maritime Security officers, the Defence Minister expressed his warm regards and gratitude to Minister of Maritime and Blue Economy, NIMASA and the Facilitators for thier unweavaring commitment.
