Nigeria gets new Consulate-General for US, South Africa, Germany, others

Tinubu jet out for hajj Rest

The Federal Government on Tuesday announced new heads of some of the country’s Embassies abroad.

The list includes 12 Consulate-General and 5 Charge de Affairs.

They are to resume immediately, according to a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar.

The names of the Consulate-General and their country of posting are:

Charging the newly posted Ambassadors, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reminded them that their appointment is pivotal to the country’s economic growth.

Minister according to the statement signed by his media aide, Alkasim Abdulkadir also urged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria, “asserting that they are pivotal to the economic drive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“He further stressed that as seasoned career diplomats they should shun the act of politicking
and recommit themselves to their calling of diplomacy for the collective interest and development of Nigeria,” The statement reads

Reacting on behalf of the new appointees, the just appointed Consul General for the Consulate in New York Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, reiterated the commitment of his colleagues to uphold the ethos of the profession and pledged to bring the much needed investments to the country. He further thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the confidence reposed in them.
