COAS harps on training of Officers

The Chief of Army Staff ( COAS) Lt Gen Tajudeen Lagbaja said the Nigerian Army shall continue to engage its officers in training and retraining for effective and enhanced professionalism.

He said the Nigerian Army is involved in a plethora of activities involving a wide range of military operations involving conventional military engagements and other related issues.

Addressing participants at the Doctrine and training Command (TRADOC) 2024 Conference held at the TRADOC Auditorium hall in Minna Tuesday, January 9, the COAS said the Conference is designed to enhance the application of the Nigerian Army Doctrine 22 as an enabler for the conduct of effective training and operations.

According to him, the military engagements include military operation other than war to peace support operations counterinsurgency/ terrorism and anti bandiry operations

Represented by the Chief of training of Nigerian Army headquarters Major General Sani Gambo Mohammed , the COAS said the Nigerian Army is required to train, plan and execute the database for effective operations.

“These operations are in line with extant Doctrine 22 which is codified as proactive responsive Doctrine and leverages on the pillars of leadership operational effectiveness and administration towards addressing contemporary Security challenges within a joint environment.” he stated.

The conference with the themes: ” Enhancing Operational Effectiveness In a joint Environment Through Tailor- Made Training” Ultimately, will serve to redirect, re-align and inspire action from officers and soldiers as well as guide decision making to lead the Nigerian Army to victory.

Speaking earlier the commander Training And Doctrine Command TRADOC Nigerian Army Major Gen. KO Aligbe disclosed that the command under his leadership is committed towards training, Welfare and morals which according to him are essential elements of military readiness,for our troops.

He pointed out that the TRADOC as a training base of the Nigerian Army will continue to impact military training on officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army to enhance their productivity assuring that the command will continue to leave up to its mandate of training and retraining of the military personnel to impact their knowledge in the discharge of the duty.
