The English women team are through to the final of the FIFA women’s world cup after defeating host, Australia on Wednesday.
England opened the scoring after a sublime strike by Toone in the 36th minute to secure a first half win for the three lions.
In the second half , the Australians came back stronger and got their equalizer through star striker, Sam Kerr after firing a rocket from yards out.
The Australian team became very strong as they committed more players forward until an error cost the team. England striker, Hemp pounced on the defender who was sloppy in possession to slot in a calm finish to give the English team a lead again.
Striker, Sam Kerr had a golden opportunity to level the Austrilian side but her shot was just inches from the goal post.
Things went sour for Australia when English star, Lauren had a decent run down the middle before providing a top notch pass for striker , Russo to score the third goal for England making it 3-1.
It was an entertaining game but unfortunately, Australia couldn’t pull through as the referee ended the game.
England will now face Spain in the final while Australia and Columbia will battle for the third place.
