A 23-year-old man, Abdulwahab Yusuf was on Tuesday arraigned in a Sharia Court in Kano for allegedly stealing cow skin (ponmo) worth N8,500.
Yusuf, a resident of the Tukuntawa Quarters area, was charged with theft. The Judge, Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered that Yusuf, who pleaded guilty, be remanded in a correctional center.
The case was adjourned until August 22 for summary trial.
Inspector Abdullahi Wada, the Prosecution Counsel, stated that the complainant, Fatihu Auwal, who also lives in Tukuntawa Quarters, reported the incident at the Fagge Police Station in Kano on August 5.
Wada reported that Yusuf entered the complainant’s stand and stole the cow skin.
