Gunmen on Wednesday invaded a settlement in the Federal Capital Territory and abducted a seven-year-old girl.
The incident took place at Yangoji village, Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Suleiman Musa, a resident of the community, stated that the terrorists arrived in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting multiple rounds before breaking into some homes and kidnapping the girl.
However, the timely intervention of a police unit caused the shooters to flee the scene.
At around 5 a.m., the Kwali Divisional Police Headquarters responded to a distress call concerning the attack.
A source added that the quick actions of police officers, hunters, and vigilantes, alongside the Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO), saved the community from further harm from the gunmen.
