21st century youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience ( 21st CYNDAC ) has thrown its weight behind the Executive Vice President of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Engr, Tombomieye Adokiye.

21st CYNDAC who was apparently reacting to a publication in Sahara Reporters, titled “Group Asks EFCC To Probe NNPC Chief, Adokiye For Alleged Crude Oil Theft, Others”, said those calling for the head of Adokiye are those not comfortable with his efforts towards halting crude oil theft.

The group pointed out in  a statement signed by its coordinator, Izon Ebi  that those behind the news were merely contractors to oil theft.

“Going through the news,  we discovered that some faceless individuals and one Mr Davies Highman masquerading themselves as the Niger Delta youths and stakeholders Congress,  a group perceived to have been contracted by those that were in the business of stealing crude oil in the Niger Delta region,  have been making countless ill-fated attempts to blackmail and tarnish the good reputation and integrity of the Executive vice president of the Nigerian Petroleum company limited ( NNPCL ) , Engr. Tombomieye Adokiye,  because of his resolve to stop crude oil theft and illegal artisanal refineries in the Niger Delta region.

“In one of their contrivances, the blind group and  their criminal sponsors are trying to no avail to intimidate the Economic and Financial crime commission ( EFCC ) to go after Engr. Adokiye,  as a way to create confusion,  aimed at demoralising him from the fight to restore the Nigerian economy from the cabals.”

The group also alleged that part of their plan along with their criminal sponsors was “to hoodwink the incoming administration to replace Engr.  Adokiye with their members that will do their bidding.”

Ebi  added, On the above account,  the 21st CYNDAC and other Agitators have vowed to fight it dirty with any individual or group whose aim is to attack in order to distract and discourage the good fight being fought by Engr.  Adokiye from within and outside the NNPCL.

“We warn those that are tussling power from him to think twice before stepping into the battle arena.  “We therefore challenge these false whistle blowers to remove their masts and tell the Nigerian people who their contractors and paymasters are. “
