This was revealed on the social media page of the EFCC on Friday evening.

evening, the police intercepted and arrested a house of representatives member with about $500, 000 allegedly meant for vote buying in Rivers state.

This makes it second money intercepted just hours to the presidential and the national assembly election.

According to the Commission, the suspect involved has been taken into custody for further questioning.

It added that the recovery was made by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Commission.

The EFCC has charged the public to report anyone trying to buy or sell votes by making use of the EFCC financial crimes reporting App, Eagle Eye, which is available for download on the Google Play or Apple store.
