Afro Pop maestro, Oladapo Oyebanji popularly known as D’banj, has been detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, NewsSpecng learnt.
According to findings, D’banj is being detained over alleged fund diversion running into millions of naira.
He is alleged to have diverted N-Power funds in collaboration with some government officials.
Though no official statement had been issued at the time of filing this report, a Source told NewsSpecng that some funds were cleared through bank accounts linked to the musician.
Before his arrest on Tuesday, the musician, it was learnt had refused to honour previous invitations to him by the ICPC on the excuse that he was out of the country for scheduled concerts.
He is expected to be docked anytime this week.
“On arrival he was interrogated for hours after which he was detained and his plea for administrative bail was rejected by officials, for lack of trust,”the source said.
