A couple, friend dragged before court for bridging loan agreement

 A couple and their female friend have been dragged before the Sharia Court of Appeal, sitting in Kubwa, FCT for failing to keep to a loan term.

They were dragged before the Sharia court by one Abdulraham Sodiq, the creditor.

The three defendants are Gabriel Nige, Ayuba Josephine’, and Lucy Abba. According to Abdulraham the trio are owing  N1,250,000 , 750,000 and 732,000 respectively.

Abdulraham pleaded with the court to assist him in getting back his money.

He said the respondents refused to pay him the complete balance as agreed.

Lucy Abba, the third respondent noted that she never met Abdulrahman herself, she however said she collected N300,000 from Ayuba Josephine and her husband Gabriel Nige, and has refunded them the money with it’s interest since November 2021.

Ayuma Josephine on her part noted that she borrowed N300,000 in March 2021, and has paid him 36,000 interest for 8 months.

Ayuma said that she pleaded with Abdulrahman to let them pay him the Money without its interest because of her financial decline, which he did not agree to.

The court stated that the interest would be revoked only if the Lender (Abdulrahman), has no licence from CBN, but if he does, they are to pay him all his money.

The case was adjourned to Friday, 11th of November 2022.
