American rapper, Kirshnik Ball popularly known as Takeoff, a member of the hip hop trio, ‘Migos’ which includes Quavo and Offset, has been shot dead in Houston, NewsSpecng gathered.

Takeoff, who’s real name is Kirsnik Khari Ball, was the youngest member of Migos. Quavo was his uncle, and Offset his cousin.

TMZ reported that Takeoff and Quavo were playing dice at the bowling alley when an altercation broke out and someone started shooting and a bullet hit Takeoff.

The fatal incident happened early Tuesday morning and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

In a series of tweets, the Houston police confirmed the incident but did not give the identity of the deceased.

The police said, “Downtown officers are on a shooting at 1200 Polk. One victim was found deceased upon arrival.

Takeoff was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 1994, and began performing with his uncle – Quavo – and cousin – Offset in 2008.

Initially calling themselves Polo Club, they switched to the name Migos in 2011. Versace, their first mainstream hit was released in 2013, and later remixed by Drake.

The group’s biggest hit was their 2016 collaboration Bad and Boujee, as well as MotorSport, with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, and Walk It Talk It, with Drake.

The Grammy-nominated trio also played a fictional version of themselves on an episode of the hit TV show Atlanta in 2016.

Takeoff released his only solo album – The Last Rocket in 2018.

Just weeks ago, Takeoff released record Only Built for Infinity Links as a duo with Quavo, without the third Migos member Offset, 30, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, and who is married to rapper Cardi B.

Fans and friends were quick to pay tribute on Twitter, with boxer Chris Eubank Jr writing: “Can’t believe I’m having to say this again about another young black star being killed for no reason, something really has to change in the industry.”
