The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has been urged to as a matter of urgency, set the necessary machinery in motion for the enactment of the Ondo State Value Added Tax Law.
This according to an Abuja based Lawyer, Dr. Kayode Ajulo is to regulate the effective administration of VAT in Ondo State.
Ajulo in a short memo to the Governor, titled “A Short Memo To Arakunrin” also commended the governor for his role in what he (Ajulo) described as an ongoing restructuring in the country.
“I hereby heartily commend the ongoing restructuring that is gradually taking shape, albeit from unexpected quarters.
“The discerning do perceive and welcome these changes with the awareness that with fiscal federalism, the rest of our laudable aspirations on “restructuring” will also become reality in the very foreseeable near future.
“I therefore call on the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN to, as a matter of urgency, set the necessary machinery in motion for the enactment of the Ondo State Value Added Tax Law to regulate the effective administration of VAT in Ondo State.
“There is absolutely no doubt that Ondo State is blessed to have a pragmatic and super lawyer as the chief pilot of the State. It is therefore of utmost importance to seize the momentum of this present boon that Providence has granted the State in the person of the Governor.
“The stars are aligned in the your favour, the winds are also in your favour and the time is now, Mr Governor; Carpe Diem, as the ancients would say.”
