The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada has urged christians faithfuls to use this period of christmas celebration to show love, compassion and preach peace and tolerance.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs also stressed the need for strict adherence to Covid 19 protocol.
Dada felicitated with Nigerians home and in Diaspora particularly Christian faithfuls on this year’s celebration of Christmas.
Ambassador Dada in a message said this year’s celebration brings yet another opportunity to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and reflect on the way and manner he sacrificed his life for the salvation of mankind.
He said the lifetime of Jesus Christ was characterised with examplary qualities worthy of emulation by all and sundry.
While urging the Christian faithfuls to use the period to show love, compassion and preach peace and tolerance, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs stressed the need for strict adherence to Covid 19 protocol.
He said the resurgence of Covid 19 pandemic across the World at this particular time of celebration has posed a great challenge and therefore warned against flouting global protocols and measures aimed at controlling the pandemic.
The Minister also advised Nigerians to be vigilante during the celebration and reports any suspecious movement to the appropriate authorities as the security agencies have earlier warned of plans by some unpatriotic elements to disrupt the celebration.
Ambassador Zubairu Dada wished all Christians at home and across the globe a very peaceful and memorable celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
