Releated Post

Prof. Taofiq Adesina Azeez, Imam, University of Abuja has called on the Nigerian Government not to embark on another lockdown of the country, inspite of the raging second wave of Covid-19.

Azeez who is also an Imam, Da’wah Front of Nigeria said this while addressing the state of the Nation.

He said that Nigeria sliding into the most dangerous and violent anarchy is an understatement and Government responsibility is basically security of life and property is also a constitutional fact.

“It is believed that Government has the capacity to stem insurgency and other critical violent crimes compounding our insecurity. But it seems Government is insensitive and tending towards irresponsibility.”

Explaining the pathetic situation in the country, the Imam said that the government should not ignite another lockdown because of the certain aggravating effects of this on the already livid anger of the various sections of the Nigerian society.

“I, therefore, advise Government to intensify public enlightenment, enforcement of the necessary protocol and open, sincere and transparent administration of palliative and cushion effects of the disease.

“These measures will be better than resistance to another lockdown which may spell doom to the already volatile situation.”

He urged Nigerians to be prayerful and patient as he strongly advise that all should be vigilant and compliant with safety rules.

“May Allah protect and save Nigeria from collapse,” he said
