A 25 year old fake medical doctor, Idris Nasiru,has been arrested in Ondo State.
Nasiru was arrested by police detectives for operating an illegal clinic at Ore.
Nasiru’s arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by Command’s Surveillance Team.
The spokesperson for the state police command DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said the arrest was “another significant breakthrough in the commands sustained fight against medical quackery.

Abayomi added that ” This arrest forms part of the Command’s intensified efforts to dismantle medical criminal networks operating within the State.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence-led policing in disrupting criminal activities.

The police image maker, reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering resolve to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the State.

He urged members of the public to continue cooperating with the Police by providing credible and actionable information that will assist in combating crime and criminality across the State.

Abayomi advised residents of the state ” to exercise caution when seeking medical services and to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to medical quacks, assuring the public that the Police remain committed to eradicating medical crimes in all their forms.

Ambassadors-designate awaits letter of agreemo for posting

Letters of Agreemo for the newly screened Ambassadors-designate have been sent to their respective host countries, The nation learnt.
The posting will only be concluded when the host countries accept the ambassadors-designate.
Nigeria missions have been without Ambassadors in the last two years, following the recall of all the ambassadors by President Bola Tinubu in 2023.
According to findings, the ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent out letters to host countries and is awaiting response which might take between one week or a month.
According to sources in the diplomatic circle, it is until the ambassadors-designate are accepted by their host countries, that they can be posted.
Sources said that the process differs from country to country.
The process, according to those who should know better, might take up to a month for some countries like the US, UK, Canada and the rest, while for some countries it can take like a week.
If an ambassador-designate is rejected it is expected that such ambassador would be posted to another country.
This explains why postings are not usually announced until all the processes are completed.
The Senate had on 19 December 2025 confirmed the nomination of 64 persons for appointment as Career and Non-Career Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, presented by its Chairman, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger North).
Presenting the report, Senator Bello said the committee screened the nominees and found them suitable for appointment, noting that their nominations complied with relevant laws and guidelines governing diplomatic postings.
According to the report, 34 nominees were confirmed as Career Ambassadors, while 30 others were cleared as Non-Career Ambassadors.
Among those confirmed as Career Ambassadors are Ambassador Nwaobiala Ezenwa Chukwuemeka (Abia), Betso Maimunah Ibrahim (Adamawa), Monica Okwuchukwu Enebechi (Anambra), Ambassador Mohammed Mahmud Lele (Bauchi), Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Monguno (Borno), Ambassador Adams Jane Bassey (Cross River), Ambassador Sulu-Gambari Olatunji Ahmed (Kwara) and Ambassador Ramat Mohammed Omobolanle (Lagos).
Others include Ambassador Adeyemi Adebayo Emmanuel (Ekiti), Ambassador Okechukwu Kingsley Onaga (Enugu), Ambassador Abdussalam Habu Zayyad (Kano), Ambassador Shehu Ilu Barde (Katsina), Ambassador Haidara Mohammed Idris (Kebbi), Ambassador Bako Adamu Umar (Kogi), Ambassador Shaga John Shamah (Nasarawa), Ambassador Ibrahim Danlami (Niger), Reuben Abimbola Samuel (Ondo), Ambassador Akande Wahab Adekola (Osun), Ambassador Luther Ogbomode Ayo-Kalata (Rivers), Danladi Yakubu Nyaku (Taraba) and Bello Dogon-Daji Haliru (Sokoto).
Among Non-Career Ambassadors include former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Ita S. J. Enang (Akwa Ibom); former Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu; former INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmud Yakubu; former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (rtd); former Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd); and former Ondo lawmaker, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
Others confirmed include Chief Olufemi Fani-Kayode, Professor Isaac Adewole, Mr Reno Omokri, Chief Olufemi Pedro, former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Mrs Ajimobi Fatima Florence, Senator Grace Bent, Senator Professor Nora Ladi Daduut, Dr Yakubu N. Gambo.
