The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has called on the government to prioritise a business-friendly national budget that supports enterprise growth and economic resilience.
Obegolu in his Christmas message also reaffirmed the commitment of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry to constructive engagement with government and relevant stakeholders, aimed at shaping policies that encourage enterprise development, inclusive growth, and long-term economic sustainability.

“The business community remains the engine of economic growth. It is imperative that the 2026 budget addresses key issues such as access to affordable financing, improved infrastructure, stable fiscal policies, and tax incentives that promote entrepreneurship, investment, and innovation,” he stated.
Addressing members of the business community, the ACCI President called for optimism despite prevailing economic challenges, expressing confidence that the coming year offers fresh opportunities for recovery and expansion.

“As we step into 2026, I urge the business community to remain steadfast and forward-looking. The New Year presents opportunities for innovation, growth, and stronger partnerships that can foster economic stability and sustainable development. With the right policies and institutional support, businesses will continue to thrive, create jobs, and drive national progress,” he said.

Obegolu underscored the critical role of the private sector in Nigeria’s economic transformation, describing it as the engine of growth and a key driver of employment and productivity.

He also extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians and members of the organised private sector, urging renewed hope, resilience, and stronger collaboration as the country prepares for the New Year.

He congratulated Nigerians on the successful completion of the year, describing the yuletide season as a period of reflection, gratitude, and recommitment to national growth, unity, and shared prosperity.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Committee and Council members of the ACCI, Chief Obegolu wished Nigerians a joyous Christmas filled with peace, love, and renewed hope, while expressing confidence in a more prosperous, business-driven year ahead.
