Cross River governor, Prince Bassey Otu, has commended The Apostolic Church of Nigeria for its support and continued partnership with the state government.

Otu made the commendation while speaking at the grand finale of the 23rd Annual Field Convention of the Church held at the TACN Akpabuyo Field Headquarters, Ikot Nakanda, with the theme: “Behold, I Come Quickly,” coined from Rev. 22:7.

Represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon Peter Odey, he emphasized that the present administration in the state acknowledges the intercessory role the church plays in the state’s progress, noting that, the spiritual foundation of the people is a pillar upon which the administration has been achieving impactful milestones.

Reiterating government’s commitment to improving the socioeconomic status of citizens, he announced that the Federal Executive Council, chaired by President Bola Tinubu, recently approved the Bakassi Deep Seaport project, which the governor has vigorously pursued since assuming office.

He explained that the project is expected to stimulate economic growth in the area across the entire state, as well as beyond the nation.

“I want to assure you that this administration will not fail you, hence appeal for your continuous support and prayers for the present administration, as your prayers will stand in the gap to enable us deliver more dividends of democracy,” Otu said.

Earlier, Field Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Akpabuyo, Pastor Eta Edet, commended Otu for his divinely inspired leadership, highlighting his efforts to rebuild Cross River while restoring renewed hope.

He noted the peace in Akpabuyo and surrounding areas, attributing it to the governor’s reliance on God and his dedication to the people, which has motivated citizens to actively contribute to the state’s development and the success of his administration.

Executive Chairman of Akpabuyo, Hon. Effiom Bassey Effiong, took the first Bible reading from Revelation 20:11-15, while his Bakassi counterpart, Hon. Effiong Etim Okon, took the second reading from Luke 12:35-40.

The event featured intercessory prayers for the governor, his deputy, other members of his team, and the state at large.

It also saw the donation of N23 million for the TACN Farms Co-operative project by the Cross River government.
