Ambassador Umaru Damagum has been endorsed as the substantive National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
He was unanimously confirmed the substantive National Chairman of the party at the 2025 Elective PDP Convention at the mainbowl of the Lekan Salami stadium, Ibadan on Saturday.
The motion to the effect was moved by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Edo State chapter, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, on behalf of the 3,000 delegates and was seconded by Edward Marshal.
The party argued that his confirmation was in accordance with section 32 of the PDP Constitution as amended.
Moving the motion, Aziegbemi said, “I moved the motion for the ratification of Ambassador Umaru Damagum as the substantive National Chairman of the party.
“This is in accordance with the Section 32 of the Constitution of the PDP as amended.”
