No fewer than 6.8 million Nigerians have completed online registration in the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday 06 October 2025.
According to the Commission’s latest update for Week 7, covering 29th September to 5th October 2025, a total of 6,856,979 Nigerians completed their online pre-registrations on the INEC portal.
The breakdown shows that 3,581,562 of the pre-registrants are females, representing 52.23%, while males account for 3,275,417 or 47.77%.
The data further highlights the active participation of young Nigerians, with 4,689,637 registrants aged between 18 and 34 years—a demographic that continues to dominate the voter registration process.
Students also constitute a major segment of the registered population, with 1,728,384 pre-registrations, reflecting the enthusiasm of young citizens to participate in shaping the country’s democratic future.
Additionally, 154,479 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have registered online, reaffirming INEC’s inclusive approach to electoral participation.
In a related update, the Commission released statistics for completed online and physical registrations covering Week 6 (29th September to 3rd October 2025). The report shows a total of 1,216,048 completed registrations, combining both online and physical exercises conducted nationwide.
Out of this total, 658,766 were completed online pre-registrations, while 557,282 were carried out physically at INEC’s registration centres.
A gender breakdown of the data indicates that females accounted for 675,222 (55.53%), and males made up 540,826 (44.47%).
As in previous weeks, youths aged 18–34 years remained the most active participants, with 897,676 registrations, while students represented 424,126 of the total figure.
INEC also recorded 17,450 registrations from Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), underscoring the Commission’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process.
The CVR exercise, which combines online and physical registration, is part of INEC’s continuous effort to update and clean up the national voter register in preparation for upcoming off-cycle and general elections.
INEC reiterated its call for all eligible Nigerians who have not yet registered, transferred their voting locations, or corrected their details to take advantage of the ongoing exercise.
The Commission also assured citizens of its continued transparency through weekly data updates and real-time progress tracking on its dedicated CVR portal.
With more than 6.8 million pre-registrations and over 1.2 million completed registrations so far, the latest figures reflect growing public interest in the electoral process and a renewed commitment among Nigerians to actively participate in strengthening democracy through the ballot box.
