The Office for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience (OSPRE) has officially launched the Nigeria Country Resilience and Human Security Assessment document.

This landmark multidimensional study was conducted by OSPRE, the Federal Government’s agency, in close partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the European Union (EU), and the Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and launched in Abuja.

The comprehensive assessment offers an in-depth analysis of Nigeria’s resilience capacities and human security dynamics across key sectors, providing actionable insights to guide policy, shape development programming, and strengthen coordinated national responses to emerging threats.

Amina Wali, OSPRE’s Strategic Communications Officer, in a signed statement made available to our Correspondent in Gombe, said the high-level event also brought together senior Government officials, civil society representatives, private sector leaders, development partners, and members of the diplomatic community.

The stakeholders commended the collaborative spirit behind the study and emphasized the urgent need for collective action to build a more resilient and secure Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Director General of OSPRE underscored the significance of the assessment in advancing a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to resilience.

“This study represents a critical milestone in our national strategy to anticipate, prepare for, and respond effectively to risks that threaten human and national security,” he said.

Representatives from ECOWAS, the European Union, and GIZ reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Nigeria’s resilience agenda and praised the Federal Government’s proactive approach in addressing the root causes of insecurity and vulnerability.

The Nigeria Country Resilience and Human Security Assessment is expected to serve as a foundational tool for enhancing coordination among Government institutions and stakeholders, as well as for aligning strategic development and security interventions nationwide.

End.
