Two suspected kidnappers linked to a kidnap threat in Song Local Government Area in Adamawa State have been arrested.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Adamawa Police command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the arrest was carried out following a complaint received by the police.

“This is following a complaint received from one Hassan Musa Dabutu of Song LGA, who reported receiving threatening calls from an unknown subscriber, that they are coming to kidnap him unless he pays a certain amount of money.

“The complainant also raised concern that his family had earlier suffered a series of kidnappings, where a total sum of N20m was paid as ransom to secure the release of abducted family members,” Nguroje stated.

He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, directed operatives from the State Intelligence Department to commence an investigation into the threat allegations.

The statement added, “Luckily, a 15-year-old suspect, Abdulraman Musa of Nguru, and Adamu Orte, a 60-year-old man from Machina, Yobe State, were arrested.”

He pointed out that the investigation is ongoing and that the suspects will be prosecuted after the investigation is concluded.

The CP reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state.
