The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy has issued a formal disclaimer in response to a recent article published by African Travel Times on July 12, titled “A Bitter Irony: UAE’s Sanctions Undermine African Trust After Africa-Backed Win for UN Tourism Role.”
In a statement signed by the Honourable Minister, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Ministry clarified that the views expressed in the article do not reflect the official position of the Ministry, its leadership, or the Federal Government of Nigeria.
“The Federal Government maintains a cordial and cooperative relationship with the United Arab Emirates, particularly in the fields of tourism development and cultural exchange,”.
The Ministry also noted that there has been no official communication indicating any change in the UAE’s visa policy toward Nigeria, and that visa issuance continues without disruption.
The Ministry urged African Travel Times to retract the publication, citing concerns that it could misrepresent Nigeria’s diplomatic stance.
Reaffirming its commitment to constructive international engagement, the Ministry emphasized its dedication to peaceful partnerships and global cooperation in tourism and the creative sectors.
