Former President Muhammadu Buhari would be buried on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State, NewsSpecng learnt.
He died on Sunday afternoon in a London clinic after a prolonged illness.
Katsina Deputy Governor Lawal Jobe announced the postponement of the burial to reporters on Monday afternoon.
Jobe arrived at the Daura residence of the former President by 11.27am to inspect the site for the final burial.
A presidential delegation led by the Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in London on Monday morning to repatriate his body home.
