The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mohammed Jibrin Barde has reiterated his call on the opposition parties to close ranks and work together for the sole purpose of chasing out the bad governance of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole.

Danbarde, as he is popularly called, made the appeal in Kumo, Akko Local Government Area of the State during the opposition parties ongoing consultations across the State with the aim of gathering more support ahead of the 2027 elections.

During the Akko stakeholders consultative meeting, Danbarde emphasized that the coming together of opposition political parties remains the only alternative that can end APC’s tyrannical rule.

He explained that the Kumo meeting was one of several meetings and statewide engagements planned by the coalition to build momentum and expand its support base across the 11 LGA of the State.

According to him, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) renewed engagement strategy aims to collate more members of the opposition in the State towards uniting them to restore public trust as well as offer a credible alternative to the status quo.

He assured that the coalition is committed to building a broad-based political movement anchored on equity and collective aspirations of Gombe citizens.

Chairman of the SDP in Gombe State, Comrade Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, emphasized the need for inclusive governance, political accountability, and a people-driven development agenda in the State and in Nigeria as a whole.

The meeting was attended by Community leaders, youth groups, and women representatives who expressed support for the coalition’s message.

They described the visit to Kumo as timely, noting growing dissatisfaction with the current political leadership of the APC in the state.

End.
