Nigeria felicitate with DR Congo on independence anniversary celebration

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar on Monday congratulated the government and people of Democratic Republic of Congo on their occasion of their independence anniversary celebration.

Tuggar in his felicitation message to Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie of the DRC celebrates the country’s resilience and push for self determination.

The felicitation which was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads in part: “Nigeria celebrates with the DRC this historic milestone, which symbolizes the resilience, courage, and determination of the Congolese people in their pursuit of sovereignty, peace and prosperity. Nigeria acknowledges the DRC’s rich cultural heritage, vast natural resources and strategic role in advancing regional stability and economic integration in Central Africa.

“The Government of Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the DRC, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as trade, security, and sustainable development.

“Moreso, Nigeria remains a steadfast partner in supporting the DRC’s efforts towards lasting peace, democratic governance, and socio-economic progress.

“On this joyous occasion, Nigeria calls for continued regional and international collaboration to address challenges facing the DRC, including security and humanitarian concerns, while commending the efforts of the Congolese government in fostering national unity and development.

“The Government and people of Nigeria wish the Government and people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo a peaceful and prosperous Independence Anniversary celebration.”
