Organisation launches Doctoz Healthcare platform in Nigeria

An United Kingdom (UK) based organisation has launched a healthcare application for the improvement in healthcare provision and services in the country.

Mrs. Sa’adatu Adamu, the African Representative of the organisation while briefing newsmen in Abuja, said the initiative is aimed at bridging the gap in healthcare system by providing on demand healthcare services at home to reduce hospital visit.

She said the whole idea was not meant to replace government efforts on the provision of healthcare service delivery in the country but to augment it which is currently in place.

“We welcome you to today’s event with joy and excitement as we unveil today a milestone achievement in the course of healthcare service provision in Nigeria.

“What we seek to achieve is not a replacement of efforts by government which are commendable given the weight of the challenges but, to augment what is currently in place.

“We are confident that with the launch of this app an improvement in healthcare provision would be achieved and access will be seen in the coming months within the sample space of users,” she said.

According to her, the methods are adapted to the Nigerian societal scene with its resident ideology and methodology.

While commending governments efforts on the health sector, she said it was no longer news that healthcare system is overstretched in both manpower and infrastructure thus forcing citizens who can afford healthcare abroad into a seemingly unending medical tourism at the detriment of our economy.

“The Doctoz app is available on Google store and an IOS version will and both patients and practitioners can register for free on the app and will be required to create a profile.

“On the app, a patient can search through the services available and choose their immediate need and a click will reveal the healthcare providers on the service and they can make their choice of who to consult.

“This is not the call of the government alone, but of everyone, Doctoz brings expertise, experience, and an untiring resolve to provide Nigerians access to affordable quality healthcare from the comfort of their homes.

Mr. Agu Prince Osinayah, the group’s Content Developer, said the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic has brought in about reimagination and ideas have reinacted to cover the disappearing spaces for development.

Mr Ocholi Ogwu, the organisations Admin said Sign up is free on the platform and to enjoy some incentives like payment of hospital bill and drugs one will need to get a card foraN2000 to benefit service fee worth N150, 000.

Ms Daisy, the organization’s Customer Care Representative, on her part said for more information on the healthcare application the general public should visit www.doctoz.org.
