Chairman, National Youth Assembly Committee Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala member representing Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire (Oyo State) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as one of the brilliant Nigerian youth legislative leader, hosted the Nigerian Youth Assembly on Wednesday 3rd March, 2025 at the Conference Hall of the National Assembly.

The youths expressed their opinion, in support while a few criticised the Tax reform bills currently undergoing public hearing after scaling first reading to second reading.

The youths appreciated the opportunity given them to critically x-ray the provisions of the tax reform bills as it affects the Nigerian Youth.

Various submissions were made by youth leaders in reaction to the presentation of the committee chairman and that of other honourable members in attendance.

The words of wisdom by Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya succinctly drives home the benefits embedded in the tax reform bills on behalf of himself and colleagues.

While responding to questions by NASS Independent Publishers, Hon. Alao-Akala further expounded on the content of the tax reform bills, which gives exemption to majority in the youth demography on the one hand, and the development that government will bring to bare on the citizenry, that will be enjoyed by most youth of Nigeria, who make up over sixty percent of our population.

“The future is brighter with the tax reform bills when it comes into force.

“Our country shall become better when the system allows the input of her citizens to thrive.

“The youth are the future leaders of this country”. So say National Youth Assembly Committee Chairman Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao and that opportunities should be given to youths at all levels to contribute to the growth of the nation.

All the participants were delighted with the tax reform bills after hearing the contributions and few concerns of all other organs as imperative messages to state governments, parastatals, corporate businesses etc, as they were encouraged to give opportunities to Nigeria’s youth to thrive and prosper.
