FUDMA closed down aftermath of Students protest

Releated Post

Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State has declared a one-week mid-semester break starting on February 24.

The decision comes after students staged a protest on Sunday, alleging that a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) had fatally shot one of their classmates.

Reports suggest that the JTF accused the student of being an informant before opening fire.

The protest continued into Monday morning as no major casualty has been reported

To forstal any breakdown of law and order,, the university’s Senate decided to close the school temporarily.

The announcement was made by FUDMA’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, in a statement issued on Monday.

Prof. Bichi also instructed all students to vacate the campus by 6:00 p.m. on February 24.

“The management wishes the students a happy and peaceful mid-semester break,” he added.
