No fewer than 828 foreigners were deported in 2024, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo disclosed on Tuesday.
This, as the Minister also said that the ministry generated over N3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications, saying overall, there was a 150 percent increase in revenue generated.
Tunji-Ojo who made the disclosure at the media parley in Abuja, also disclosed that the Government generated about N2.4 billion in 2024 from marriage contracts via its marriage registry at the Ministry of Interior.
While he did not list their specific offences, he said the repatriation was carried out by the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.
