Victor Osimhen is now Nigeria’s all time record second joint-top scorer alongside Segun Odegbami.
The Galatasaray forward lone goal against Benin Republic in the 1-1 draw on Thursday night brought him at par with the legendary Odegbami on 23 goals.
Osimhen is in line to increase his tally for the three-time African champions in the Super Eagles next game against Amavubi of Rwanda in their last 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game next week Monday.
The encounter will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
The late Rashidi Yekini is Nigeria’s leading top scorer with 37 goals.
