Family of serving senator representing Gombe Central, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has denied recent viral social media video insinuating that money was sprayed during the wedding ceremony of Fauziyya Danjuma Goje.
Muhammad Adamu Yayari, the media aide to Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, also a former Governor of Gombe State, in a press release made available to our Correspondent, described the video as misleading and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the revered family and the esteemed guests who attended the ceremony.
According to him, there was no place where men and women mixed together throughout the line of events during the ceremony as the alleged video wanted to portray.
“Yayari said, “We believe this malicious video is the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to sabotage the successful ceremony and bring denigration to the entire family and its esteemed guests.
“We urge the public to disregard this baseless claim and appreciate the values of decency and respect that define our family”, he stressed.
Yayari also stated that, “Goje’s family is revered and would never come so low to engage in or condone an activity that is contrary to the laws of Nigeria.
“It is, therefore, unthinkable and mischievous for disgruntled elements to share the viral dollar-spraying video depicting or insinuating the same to be part of the celebration of Fauziyya’s wedding.
“We want to state that, the said bride and the groom seen in the viral video aren’t the newly wedded daughter of Danjuma Goje and her groom and there’s no familiar face to the family, thus, the video is not in anyway related to Goje and his entire family”, he pointed out.
It would be recalled that the wedding between Fauziyya Danjuma Goje and her groom Aliyu Ahmed Abubakar was held on Friday, 25th October 2024 at the Central Mosque in Abuja, and was attended by prominent dignitaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Other dignitaries present were the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Serving and former Governors, serving and former members of the National Assembly, and the National Security Adviser among others.
President Bola Tinubu served as the “Waliy” (Guardian) of the bride while the immediate past Governor of Gombe state, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo served as the representative of the groom at the wedding rite.
