Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says his administration will continue to give priority attention to the well-being of people in the state.

Gov. Makinde who made the promise when he addressed Ibadan Circular Road protesters, said his administration is a listening government.

He used the opportunity to reiterate that his administration had not acquired any land on the corridor of the Ibadan Circular Road.

He explained that while former Governors Lam Adesina and Rashidi Ladoja set the 150 metres mark, the administration of former Gov Abiola Ajimobi acquired and gazetted additional 350metres.

He reassured the protesters that buildings that buildings erected within the 500m corridor but outside the 150m corridor will be accommodated in the development.

“I think there has been a lot of misinformation, what they said to me is that they want the circular road but they don’t want the corridor, and I said yes.

“We must plan, the corridor that they are talking about; 500 metres to the left and 500 metres to the right, this administration didn’t bring that one onboard, it was the previous administration.

“However, I told them to remain law abiding, and anyone that has a building outside the initial 150 meters would be integrated. We won’t demolish any of the buildings outside of the 150 meters already existing.

“From now forward, don’t start laying any foundation within the corridor because we must plan that place,” Makinde said.

The governor, who appreciated the protesters for their peaceful conduct, reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare and well-being of the people of Oyo State .

Speaking on behalf of the affected residents, Alhaji Olaniran Ere Asalatu and Azeez Olaide, appreciated the governor for his favourable response to their plight.
